We are a God fearing, neighbor loving, chaotic, messy, nomadic family of six. You can find us currently living in sunny California but we've been all around the east and west coasts of the United States and who knows where we'll go next!
With a 1, 3, 5 and 6 year old we are always busy. There is never a dull moment in our home. I can't remember the last time I thought, "I'm bored!" And that's the way we like it!
Our children have a true heart to love and serve the world. During the Christmas season of 2010 they began a "money jar" to buy something from the World Vision catalog. They saved birthday money, tooth fairy money and money found on the street so they could help another child in need.
The 2011 World Vision gift catalog arrived in the mail and they eagerly waded through each page marveling at all the options. They first wanted to buy a cow. Then they thought maybe some chickens. The considered school tuition and life saving medicine. Then they came accross the house for an orphan family and I'll never forget their response. Such genuine empathy for children halfway around the world living without parents.
And that is how they decided they needed to continue saving to buy the orphans a home. Our six year old took charge and grabbed a clipboard to make her list of possible ways they could make money. Some were downright adorable. After writing a few down our five year old bursted out, "write down PRAY! And let's stop and pray now." So we did. And she has reminded us to pray constantly for our new friends who will receive this home they are saving money for. May we all have the hearts of a five year old!
We hope you will consider joining us on this journey!
God Bless!
